About this plant
Give young plants room to grow outwards, then decide whether to trail the stems or train them onto a support. Leaf colour and shape vary among cultivars.
Care at a glance

- Watering
- Let the upper mix begin drying while keeping the deeper root ball from drying completely.
- Soil
- A draining houseplant mix in a container with open drainage holes.
- Humidity
- high humidity
Plan your care
Decide early whether the plant will trail or climb. Fit a support while the stems are easy to guide, and check that a trailing plant will not obstruct a shelf or walkway.
Compare moisture near the centre of the pot with the surface before watering. Slower drying in a cooler room calls for a longer interval, not the same amount of water on the same weekday.
Growing tips
Let the top layer of compost begin to dry before watering, while keeping the deeper root ball from drying completely. Keep the pot draining freely and move it away from cold draughts.
